FAQ’S
Why do you love cooking and baking so much?
I’ve been baking and cooking as far back as I can remember, and I love it a lot. Also I come from a long lines of awesome bakers: my grandparents (Grandma Jeanne and Grandma Lorna), my mom, and my auntiess. They all helped me learn how to bake!
What is your favorite thing to cook or bake?
I really love baking cakes. When you are done you get to decorate. I really love decorating cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and more. There are so many ways to decorate cakes, and so many different designs.
What is the best baking project you have ever done?
A few years ago me, my mom, and next-door neighbor friend made a gluten-free unicorn rainbow layer cake for her mom’s birthday. The different colored layers took a while but it was so fun! I had a great time making it and so did my friend. I also enjoyed eating it ; )
Why did you want to write a cookbook?
Since I was a little girl I have always LOVED to bake. I started pretty young and just kept on going. Then in January 2019 there was a polar vortex (meaning it was very, very, VERY cold outside) and we couldn’t go out for over a week. My mom suggested that I start writing down some of my most special recipes, to create a cookbook for kids my age. It is a work-in-progress and I hope to have it completed and ready to go by mid-summer.~
What is your favorite food?
I LOVE seafood. Every year my family and I would fly out to Florida. There is an amazing seafood restaurant there called Johnny’s Hideaway that has really good crab and lobster - nom!
Is there anything you DON’T eat?
I DO NOT like yogurt, applesauce, or blueberries. Eeewww! Blueberries aren’t as bad as the others but I will NOT eat yogurt. I will eat blueberries in smoothies and recipes but I just do not like the texture!
What’s your favorite food game?
This is a really fun game to play: One person names 4-5 ingredients and the other person has to name something they could make using those 4-5 things!
