End of Year Civil War Project

As you guys already know, summer break is right around the corner. And for my end of the year Social Studies project we were allowed to make food from the Civil War. And obviously, I made a dessert! I made Civil War pound cakes. Since the soldiers/cooks in the Civil War did not have a lot of food to work with, they had to work with what they had. The pound cakes in the Civil War were pretty dry, but even if it didn’t taste really good, it was still a privilege to have pound cakes.

I was going to do a speed bake of the pound cake, but y’all know that it wouldn’t work. So guess what I had to do. I made an iMovie that is at the bottom for you to watch if you want. My Grandma Della made pound cakes sorta like the Civil War pound cakes but not exactly. I heard that many people from my family tree made really old dessert recipes that people would’ve made in the 1800s. It’s really awesome : D
